Those little sample bottles they supply you with. If you take them with you is it stealing you think? Is it stealing to keep the soap/shampoo you get at hotels?
If they're larger refillable bottles then yes, it's stealing. But the small sample bottles, no. As others have said, they're included in the room price. You never go to a hotel and find they've given you half empty sample bottles do you, they get thrown away after each use. ie. They're there for you to take, and if you leave it behind then it just goes to waste. And to the person who says if it's allowed it still doesn't make it illegal - you clearly don't have a brilliant appreciation of the law! If you are 'allowed' to keep something then you are not stealing it! That's like saying you're stealing when somebody offers you a free sample outside a shop! Use your common sense! It DOES belong to you, because you have paid for it when paying for the room. Of course they say they're complementary but no such thing as a free lunch! Is it stealing to keep the soap/shampoo you get at hotels?
I do not think that it is considered stealing. You are paying a certain amount for a hotel room, and that stuff is there for your use. I feel that if you want to take it, you paid for it! Now if you start taking towels and pillows and things like that then I would consider that stealing because those are items that they reuse. If you use have of the shampoo, they are going to throw it away anyway. I always take that stuff at every hotel that I go to!!
Not at all. They are provided for your use, and they toss them when they clean the room (not knowing if they have been opened or not).
Don't take the towels, though!
A side note: If you travel frequently and find yourself with a huge supply of them, you can donate them to your local senior citizens center. They can really use them.
No, I don't think so. I do it all the time, same with the people I know... They are given to the guests; and I am pretty sure they throw them away after people check out of the hotel anyways.
Could you please help me with mine!?: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
ohh no way, you said it ';they supply you with'; them they expect you to take it, they have a million of them. (:
dont worry, and by the way you're not the only one, i take them all the time also.
Of course not, they are there for you to use, it's not like their going to give them to the next person staying there. if you do leave them they get thrown out. and taking them with you is just like using them there, there is no difference!
No it isn't. You pay for it in the price of your room. If you didn't they would price them like they do the contents of the mini fridge and add them to your checkout bill. Towels, bathrobes, bedding and appliances are another story though.
They are provided as a courtesy. I would hope they would put fresh ones in for the next guest, regardless whether you use them.
I do not consider it to be theft, and I don't believe the hotel would, either.
No. After you leave, regardless of if you use them or not they have to throw them away because of safety. It's actually better to take them. you won't be wasting all the shampoo and conditioner.
no,
because they'll replace it whether u use it or not.
i just came home from vacation yesterday, and i kept the lotion and shampoo that was offered to me.
no, they are travel shampoo and soap. they were designed to be kept by the occupant. besides, don't think you would want to use left over soap.
although i steal their towels :D
no, they are samples.
Taking with you a soap that was given to you is not unethical but it is a signature of a cheap skate.
wow...awesome question..i used to think itz kind of stealing..but actually it isnt...becaus eyou pay not only for the room but alos for these kind of frills there...so it is no offense taking them as u have paid for it...:D
No, they are there for you.
You are supposed to use them, and nobody else wants to use it if you already did [the next person in that room] so think about that... LoL.
Not if you've opened them to use. They can't use them again after that.
I wouldn't just collect everything they put out for my convenience if I didn't use it there....
They're included in the price of the room. That's why the bottles are so small and replenished daily.
No, it's the same as using the water. I think some motels get it free as an advertisement from the manufacturer.
no that's why they put them there for you to use and take. to use however you want. they're for you.
Heck no! You paid for all of that stuff. I always leave with every bottle of shampoo, soap and as many towels and wash clothes as I can.
I do not think that it is stealing because they are there for you if they did not want you to take them then they would not leave them there.
No it is there for you..they are samples its like the same thing as using them while your there
go ahead take them! everyone does it %26lt;3
No, I really don't think so. They leave it so you can use them. I hope not because I take them...
No. They are complimentary gifts.
well once i took this cute bar of soap shaped like a tear drop but ya kinda but they just throw it out any way well the bar soap after some one uses it
It is stealing but they dont catch you for it because its a sample
no it is not stealing. It is understood that you can take them if you wish.
No, they expect you to use them anyway. You're just delaying WHEN you'll use them.
no you get charged for it before hand soap and shampoo is thrown away if not taken
i hope not, i do it all the time. lol! no i dont think so.
even though they allow it (different from expecting it) that doesnt make it less legal for you to take it. so i would say it is considered stealing. because its not your property and you are taking it from a place that bought it. would you go to a store that is stocked with travel size shampoos and conditioner and take those? i see it as the same difference.....
