What do hotels do with the unused soap and shampoo?

I used to be a cleaner in a hotel and we were told to leave it in there and just replace the used stuff. We had to inspect it properly to make sure it hadn't been used (as one answerer was worried that they would get used soap etc that had been replaced in its packet). It is easy to tell if it has been used so we could do our job without fear of leaving behind used products. There is no profit in throwing away perfectly good unused items (as we were told!)What do hotels do with the unused soap and shampoo?
They relabel them and put them in the same roomWhat do hotels do with the unused soap and shampoo?
They leave it there for the next people that are going to stay in the hotel so most of the time I just leave the bars of soap and shampoo alone! It could have been opened and just left there. The cleaners might mistaken it for a new one an leave it there. That is very unhygienic. But occasionally, they chuck it out.
I dont know what they do with them.

But i know what we can do, so no other people face problems.

Get rid of them as soon as we leave the hotel.
recycle
Chuck it.

What the heck would we want with it?
Generally its thrown out, to prevent cross contamination. Sometimes staff take it home, depends on the policy of the hotel. If the packet is unopened, some just leave it there for the next client.
