Is it true that people use less soap & shampoo when the economy goes south?

I've read studies about this trend. maybe it's just a correlation but have you had any personal experience regarding this?Is it true that people use less soap %26amp; shampoo when the economy goes south?
It depends on how far down the economy goes...people actually buy more lipstick in a recession...i think that it is probably more of like a bell curveIs it true that people use less soap %26amp; shampoo when the economy goes south?
In economic crisis, certainly some items that can be considered otherwise ';basic elements';, become obviously less necessary than let's say..........food.

If your income is reduced, or are left with no income whatsoever, you will eliminate non-basics (as is the case of shampoo and soap) and concentrate on those basic elements to sustain life.
no. i just stop buying crap i don't need.
use less soap and shampoo. maybe water it down a bit if i make less money than before but if i make same numbers then id spend the same.
