How come no matter what the colour of the soap or shampoo, the bubbles are always white?

The bubbles are the same color as the soap. They are mostly air though and there is so little ';soap'; in a bubble they always appear clear (or white when there is a bunch of them together. How come no matter what the colour of the soap or shampoo, the bubbles are always white?
The iridescent colours of soap bubbles are caused by interfering light waves. As light impinges on the film, some of it is reflected off the outer surface while some of it enters the film and reemerges after being reflected back and forth between the two surfaces. The total reflection observed is determined by the interference of all these reflections. Since each traversal of the film incurs a phase shift proportional to the thickness of the film and inversely proportional to the wavelength, the result of the interference depends on these two quantities. Thus, at a given thickness, interference is constructive for some wavelengths and destructive for others, so that white light impinging on the film is reflected with a hue that changes with thickness.

COLORED BUBBLES?! (Great article PopSci wrote a few months back --%26gt; http://www.popsci.com/popsci/science/0a03b5108e097010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html

Guy's site who invented colored bubbles --%26gt; http://www.zubbles.com/How come no matter what the colour of the soap or shampoo, the bubbles are always white?
The bubbles are actually clear, because they are 95% water. The reason they appear white is the same reason clouds appear white. The different surfaces of the bubbles refreact the light in different directions, so you can't see through them.
i am not sure but just the other day someone managed to make coloured bubbles, have a look at http://www.zubbles.com/ they might tell you, but I do know its a close kept piece of info on the science of the bubble
not anymore.

coloured bubbles have been invented!

check out the link below...
I think the simple answer is that the dye does not make it into the bubble.
Who ever said that bubbles are white???

The are colourless or rather what scientists would call ';achromatic';

In fact if u see it at different angles you will notice a wide spectrum of colors....

Its the beauty of quantum physics!!!!!
in bubbles air is present and even its surface is very thin and wether its soap or shampoo the film is formed of same chemicals hence the air donesnt reallly exhibit any colour

you can go on the internet and look up wholesale distributors close to you, or ones that can ship. Costco, and Sams club are good to start at as locals. • Do bald people use hair shampoo to wash their head or body shampoo or soap?

my dad is bald cause of taking chemo and he uses shampoo, it keeps his head smooth and it doesn't dry out.Do bald people use hair shampoo to wash their head or body shampoo or soap?
My dad's mate uses body wash. Or facewash. Or soap. Whatever's closest. But no, not shampoo.Do bald people use hair shampoo to wash their head or body shampoo or soap?
its still a scalp so id think it would need moisturizing and cleaning. therefore bald people probables use shampoo still.
It would be logical to use regular soap.
I think it depends on the specific person.

What else should I bring with me? Is there a nearby store to buy such things as shampoo and so on?I'll stay at UCLA Dykstra Residence Hall. What should I bring (towel, shampoo, soap, tissue paper, hair dryer?
Bring your own towels, pillow, bedding to fit an extra long twin bed (36”x80”) and a non-halogen desk lamp. You may bring a stereo, television, fan, clock, computer, printer, power surge protector and mini-vacuum. If you live in one of the residence halls, a shower caddy for carrying shampoo, soap, and other toiletries would be useful.

  • When is it ok to stop using baby wash and start using regular types of soap with baby shampoo?

my son is 18 months old in about 9 days. is that an ok age? When is it ok to stop using baby wash and start using regular types of soap with baby shampoo?
I think you should use baby wash until they're a little older...It's easier on their skin. My son is 18 months old and we still use baby wash...In fact, My 8 year old still uses baby wash...

It's just so much more mild, And easier on their little bodies...Besides that, It smells way better than actual soaps! :-DWhen is it ok to stop using baby wash and start using regular types of soap with baby shampoo?
i think i would just keep using baby bath it makes there skin more softer and there some baby bath out there that makes them have a good nite sleep try and keep him as baby for as long as u can
Personally, I hang onto the baby soap/shampoo as long as possible. They are only little so long. I love the smell of baby soap, and its nice to not worry so much about it getting in their eyes. I think I used it on my two older boys until they were like 3 or 4 before changing them to kid soap.

Why are you wanting to change?
As long as he hasn't ever been sensitive to anything else...like scented wipes, laundry detergents, so on, he will probably be just fine. Just try it out on one arm or leg and watch it for signs of an allergic reaction and if it's clear in 48 hours keep on using it! Hope this helps!

( I personally LOVE to use Dove soap on my son...he always has soft skin after his bath :)
Yes, just fine, but start with Ivory or some very mild soap -- he may have reactions to the deodorants in some soaps.
Whenever you want to, you can let him use it until he moves out, it doesn't matter, you can use it no matter how old you are.
    i would think 2-3yrs
Use baby shampoo until they stop getting it in their eyes. Some children manage this around age 6, my 34 year old husband still gets it in his eyes every time but can't be persuaded to use baby shampoo. Baby shampoo is ';tear free';.

I use regular soap for quick washes with a facecloth, but tear free baby wash and shampoo for baths.

Why do you want to switch? Cost? Sick of having too many things in your bathtub? (I'm just wondering)

Can I wash my cats with just regular shampoo/dawn dish soap to get rid of a few fleas?

Regular shampoo is too harsh for cats - lots of chemicals that will strip off the oil of their coats, alter the fur's PH balance and might result in skin allergies and sensitivities.

Dawn Dish Soap can be use to only clean FLEA dirt but it does not kill the infestations nor the fleas.

Best best, go to your vet to get the correct remedy to kill fleas. Can I wash my cats with just regular shampoo/dawn dish soap to get rid of a few fleas?
This isn't exactly recommended. Cats have much more sensitive skin than we do, so it could cause them quite a bit of irritation. They also could have an allergic reaction. At least consult your vet before doing this(or a local pet store). Can I wash my cats with just regular shampoo/dawn dish soap to get rid of a few fleas?
NO! If u did that the fleas would still be there you need a chemical shampoo for fleas and ticks to kill any nest eggs as well as fleas and ticks
I don't think that would work best. Go to the vet and get frontline. That will kill the fleas and also any that are in you house too.
Dish soap kills fleas or gets it off of cats. So you can use dish soap. I use dish soap to wash my cat whenever he gos outside.
Sure. We always did. It might not get them all.

What do bald men use to wash their heads, soap or shampoo?

Ha ha. Its pretty much the same thing. Shampoo is just milder soap. What do bald men use to wash their heads, soap or shampoo?
I don't think they would need to use shampoo or only a tiny amount as there is still some natural oils that come out of their heads. What do bald men use to wash their heads, soap or shampoo?
oh my god thats funny....i never thot of that......im gonna put tis on my watchlist :)
    conditioner with anti-dandruff..tee-hee..
why would they use shampoo for a bald head? silly question
    They need nothing..
ha ha ha..i dont no gud question...obviously not shampoo coz theyd have no need for it
Shampoo because it works for scalp as well.
To have a clean bath..........that is what i think
    Their hands id of thought!
    would think soap
    I use soap and water...

it is just skin like anything else.. although lotion is needed to keep the skin healthy and from drying out.
Umm.. they have no hair, but i would say shampoo.. because most people dont put soap on their head!
My hubby is bald and he uses shower gel, or whatever is in the shower at the time. He uses shampoo on his beard though.
I didn't know they still needed to wash that area. Haha. I guess it would be shampoo. But if the guy's on a budget, he might save the trouble to purchase a shampoo - just slap the soap on.
    idk! they have no hair!
Easy. I use Mop and Glow.
car wax and then a cloth to buff it up to a great shine? ;0)

I suppose they'd use soap...it's be cheaper than using shampoo....
Why are your asking a quesiton you already heard before?

They use whatever, it's a preference.

Is there a body soap and/or shampoo that one can use in salt water?

I am gonna be living on an island for a few weeks that has limited water due to the fact that our well is very low on water. A convience though is that there is an ocean that's about a mile away and can get there within 15 minutes. I was wondering, since my family and I are gonna be limited on fresh water supply, if there's at least a body and/or hair shampoo that we can use in salt water that's biodegradable and get us clean? Thanks a bunch in advance. Is there a body soap and/or shampoo that one can use in salt water?

What type of soap/bubble bath/shampoo should I be looking out for?

I think I have a mild allergy to the ones I'm using. I get little itchy bumps on my chest, and my scalp itches.

Are there special products for people like me?What type of soap/bubble bath/shampoo should I be looking out for?
you'll probably have to try out a few until you find one that works for you as everybody is different.

Look out for ones that are hypoallergenic, preferably fragrance free. You can even get soap-free ones which might do the trick. Until you've worked out what ingrediaent it is that's making you react, try asking for free samples in the shops and use only one at a time so you can keep track of which ones are affecting you, then make a note of the ingrediants.

You could also see your doctor or dermatologist for allergy testing. They can put a variety of different stuff on your skin to see which ones don't like you!

How is soap and shampoo different?

Soap is a surfactant generally made from lye and potash. Modern soaps are better classified as detergents which utilize different products to obtain the same results without the harshness of soap.

Shampoo is a synthetic soap. It works by stripping ';sebum'; from the hair (which is the oil that hair follicles produce).

I think the website below will explain it pretty well:How is soap and shampoo different?
soaps usually contain some type of anti bacteria ingredient. How is soap and shampoo different?
    THE PRICE`? Soaps= 3 for a 拢1 // Shampoos 6 for a 拢1 thats 3 extra` just think all the extra Washing you can do`?
Shampoo contains less detergent which dries the hair out.
soap is generally more drying to your hair than shampoo
soap is to clean your body and shampoo is to clean your hair it is more delicute and gental than soap
Shampoo is a detergent, chemically an ionic surfactant. It works by increasing surface tension and floating dirt off.

Soap is animal-based, ie tallow, and has no detergent.
shampoo is for your hair %26amp; soap isn't

Well, I've never heard of it. It is a little awkward. What are the +/- consequences?
    no
no.. you cannot wash your body with a shampoo its completely different.. shampoos are only for hair they are manufactured only by keeping types of hair in mind there are no +ve consuquences

Does a bald man use soap or shampoo to wash their scalp?

Soap, it removes stuff that shampoo can't.

Basically you would treat your head like your face.

Shampoo is a lighter and less harsher substance than soap so it doesn't clean as well and it doesn't remove the old dead skin as well as soap can.

    According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shampoo

';Shampoo cleans by stripping sebum from the hair. Sebum is an oil secreted by hair follicles that is readily absorbed by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer. Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage, but this protection comes at a cost. It tends to collect dirt, styling products and scalp flakes. Surfactants strip the sebum from the hair shafts and thereby remove the dirt attached to it.

While both soaps and shampoos contain surfactants, soap bonds to oils with such affinity that it removes too much if used on hair. Shampoo uses a different class of surfactants balanced to avoid removing too much oil from the hair.

The chemical mechanisms that underlie hair cleansing are similar to that of traditional soap. Undamaged hair has a hydrophobic surface to which skin lipids such as sebum stick, but water is initially repelled. The lipids do not come off easily when the hair is rinsed with plain water. The anionic surfactants substantially reduce the interfacial surface tension and allow for the removal of the sebum from the hair shaft. The non-polar oily materials on the hair shaft are solubilised into the surfactant micelle structures of the shampoo and are removed during rinsing. There is also considerable removal through a surfactant and oil ';roll up'; effect. The foamy effect achieved by massaging shampoo into the hair is purely aesthetic.

    According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soap

';Soaps are useful for cleaning because soap molecules attach readily to both nonpolar molecules (such as grease or oil) and polar molecules (such as water). Although grease will normally adhere to skin or clothing, the soap molecules can attach to it as a ';handle'; and make it easier to rinse away. Applied to a soiled surface, soapy water effectively holds particles in suspension so the whole of it can be rinsed off with clean water.

(fatty end) :CH3-(CH2)n - COONa: (water soluble end)

    The hydrocarbon (';fatty';) portion dissolves dirt and oils, while the ionic end makes it soluble in water. Therefore, it allows water to remove normally-insoluble matter by emulsification.';

Shampoo is designed to ONLY wash hair, if you have even a little hair then you need to wash that with soap. Washing your hair with soap dries it out and damages it.Does a bald man use soap or shampoo to wash their scalp?
Usually soap, till the moment you dont have hair, depending on the amount of hair left, if its quite a bit, then using shampoo, but if less, soap does just right!!!Does a bald man use soap or shampoo to wash their scalp?
My dad has been bald for many years and he has always used soap. When I was young, I asked him why he used soap....he said, ';Shampoo is for washing hair and I don't have any.'; LOL
I used to shave my head (briefly) but now I have a regular head of hair, and either way I just use regular bar soap to wash it. The main difference between shampoo and regular soap is just texture and packaging, it all does the same function.

And every bald guy I know just uses regular soap.
    neither, dish washing liguid .

What's the difference between shampoo and body wash/soap?

besides the fact that one is for hair and ones for your body. but it seems to me that they have the same purpose, to clean and hydrate/moisturize, so why do we have two different products for the same thing? What's the difference between shampoo and body wash/soap?
Shampoo is alot milder.. It's the only REAL difference unless you get those special shampoos to do thinks like make your hair shiny or curly :)What's the difference between shampoo and body wash/soap?
Shampoos in general are horrible for your hair and many soaps have dangerous(not fatal lol) chemicals in them. By definition Shampoos are designed specifically to clean your scalp and hair strands, which contains different oils because of your hair. Soaps are obviously for the rest of the body. In most cases soaps and shampoos do not differ and i know many people in curly hair groups that use oragnic soaps to wash their hair. So in reality their is really no define difference between soaps and shampoos, it really just depends on who uses them and what the company wants to call it.

It wasn't actually til recently when people started using shampoos to wash their hair, in the old days people used soap to clean everything on their body. At some point it was believed that shampoos and conditioners was a women thing.(this was the USA, im not sure about other countires)

The chemicals used in many shampoos are the same chemicals they use to take grease off of car engines, so I don't use shampoo to clean my hair, i just use conditioner. The only time i use shampoo is when their is something impossibly amount of dirt or grease that cannot be taken out by conditioner. I do what's called the curly hair regime, it's very clean and a extremely healthy regime for curly hair. Anyways my doctor recommends to use DOVE soap, generally because it's most gentleness soap known around.

Edit:To make a long story short, their is no difference, the only difference is the person who uses it, and what the company wants to call it.
Its the strength of the detergent in the formula.

What does the little jar with 12M on the back of some shampoo and soap bottles mean?

Like food, when it goes off after a period of time really.

What can you use for taking a bath when theres no soap and shampoo?

A bath? Olive oil I love.

A shower to CLEAN? Baking soda, maybe. Gets rid of oil and dead skin.

And definitely water. But of course. What can you use for taking a bath when theres no soap and shampoo?
ahhhh.....detergent? well it depends upon yah.......calamansi.......heheheWhat can you use for taking a bath when theres no soap and shampoo?
water...conditioner for your hair... bubble bath?
    uhhh might i seggust water
salt + body lotion= best body scrub ever! and for your hair if dry use a LITTLE bit of olive oil and rinse well, if greasy use lemon juice or baking soda and again rinse well.

or if your feeling lazy spritz on a little extra pefume or colonge and a little deoderant and nobody will notice
Oat meal is good to bath in or with, just depends how you used it, shower or a tub bath...

How to used oat meal so it wont clogged up your pipes is to add about a half of cup into a sock with no holes in them, tied a knot in the sock and toss it into the bath water, or you can just simply stand there under the shower fall and scrub with the loaded sock of oat meal.

Oat meal is amazing for it does three things: 1. softens your skin. 2. it actually cleans your skin 3. And brings relief for itchy skin

As for hair wash? a little bit of light olive oil with some water as a wash.

Oh yeah don't forget to rinse your self off well from both treatments.
Stock up on extra shower supplies (esp. good brands) when they are on sale, and this problem won't come up...however, if it does, then...hmmm....look up hair home remedies, cuz they can work quite well!
dish soap, or if you don't have that, laundry detergent.

mimis haha, let them eat cake, eh?!
IDK...I'd reccomend getting soap or shampoo...or both. I guess you could use dishwashing soap, like Palmolive or something?
Good old fashioned water might help. Ah let me see. A little dish soap/shaving cream will help to give you that lather. Best of luck!
Go visit the neighbors then ask if you can use the bathroom then freshen up or get a bit of soap maybe they will not notice and if they do most will not say a thing
you can use body wash in the tube.

Is is safe to bathe my puppy with soap or regular shampoo?

I just washed her bed and i wanted to bathe her before letting her sleep on it but i dont have any dog shampoo yetIs is safe to bathe my puppy with soap or regular shampoo?
noIs is safe to bathe my puppy with soap or regular shampoo?
Oh! Thats a BIG NO NO!

Human shampoo and soaps can cause dryness and itching to the dog.

I'm hoping you washed her bed with NON-HUMAN detergent.

Remember when bathing a pup, first introduce to them the tub or whatever you are going to bathe them in.

Let them stand there like a few seconds.

Let them familiarize with the tub.

Repeat the process for a few days, until the pup is totally comfortable with being in the tub.

A non-slip mat will definitely needed. Makes the pup feel more secure. ;)

    -----
if i were you i would not use human shampoo on your dog because it can irritate its skin %26amp; severely hurt its eyes if it gets in them. you should just not let the dog sleep in the bed til tomorrow, %26amp; tomorrow u should run 2 the store %26amp; get dog shampoo. %26amp; u should consider getting dog shampoo for sensitive skin because some dogs have flaky %26amp; sensitive skin.
Actually, a bit of Dawn soap won't hurt the dog nearly as much as human shampoo. The pH of human shampoo, as well as the perfumes, can strip the dog's skin, and make her itchy. We use Dawn at the Humane Society shelter for a lot of dogs' first baths, because it doesn't harm their skin, and it kills fleas.
Baby shampoo would be best, and I think anything from Johnson %26amp; Johnson would be a good bet too...try to make sure that it doesn't have perfume or a smell though.

If you have unperfumed bars of soap, use that, but make sure she doesn't eat the soap because many dogs do...including my puppy.
Most dogs would rather skip bath time, but bathing plays an important role in the health of your dog's coat and skin, helping to keep your dog clean and free of dirt and parasites. And of course, there's the added benefit of making your pooch more pleasant to be around.

    http://dogtime.com/bathing.html
Basically there is no problem if it is just once. On regular basis use a dog's shampoo. Just be sure your dog has no eruption or any skin sensitivity that may be enhanced by the shampoo. I am assuming is just regular shampoo no additives.

    Best regards
Soap will probably dry out the skin. I have washed my dogs with human shampoo and followed it with human conditioner and they are fine. It is better to use a good dog shampoo though. Maybe an oatmeal shampoo. Its good for skin and coat.
Best not, it can dry out the skin, and your dog could be allergic. Just bathe her in normal water for now (or just wait until tomorrow?). Do you have any baby shampoo? That's good, as it's very gentle on the skin.
I wouldn't do it, not good for their skin.

Do you have any baby shampoo? You can use that if you want.

If not just put a dirty sheet on top and wait until you buy some puppy shampoo tomorrow.
Wouldn't use soap but shampoo yes if you read the ingredients in human shampoo and dog shampoo the same! Just want to charge you twice as much. Actually think ppl shampoo has more moisturizer!
it might dry out her skin. put a sheet or blanket over the bed so she'll sleep on that and then get puppy shampoo and then take off the sheet or blanket so there will be a basically clean bed for the clean puppy
Shampoo for humans has a different PH balance and it can irritate the puppy's skin.

You should wait until you get a puppy shampoo.
it will make there skin dry, dull in color,or even red. pet shampoo is the best for it it doesnt matter what brand as long as its for pets!!
use dishsoap then and rinse with cool water no shampoos for humans it will dry out the skin and shell itch...rinse rinse rinse...
dont use human stuff it might make your dog bald and buy the dog stuff itll be nicer for the dog

Do bald people wash their heads with shampoo or soap?

i have been wondering this since news years so if anyone could tell me that would be great!!Do bald people wash their heads with shampoo or soap?
go try it. shave your head and let us know!Do bald people wash their heads with shampoo or soap?
Soap. Unless they wish to reminisce about what was and no longer is. That is, I am sure there would be no great harm from using shampoo but no benefit either. It ';ain't'; going to come back.
    Soap.
they just wash it like it was skin like with a wet wash cloth and soap
    LMAO

When did you switch over from baby shampoo/soap to children's kind?

and when did you start using 'real' soap? When did you switch over from baby shampoo/soap to children's kind?
my daughter is 7 and i still buy her the kids kind of shampoo (b/c she has super long hair and gets real shampoo in her eyes then screams bloody murder) but she uses real conditioner. and if worst comes to worst she uses real shampoo but i help her a little bit.

and her and her baby sister share baby soap. my older daughters skin gets really irritated when she uses any color or scented soap(im the same way). When did you switch over from baby shampoo/soap to children's kind?
ive never heard of california baby. illlook out for it.my favorite is huggies cucumber and melon (wipes too!) it smells so refreshing and my kids love it too:) Report Abuse

That's a good question. Some babies don't really need baby soap at all, and others are really really sensitive. My daughter started using ivory bar soap pretty much as soon as she was big enough to start helping wash herself. My son has terrible allergies and couldn't stand regular soap until he was 4. He's 8 now and still can't have anything with dyes or perfumes.

The best way to figure out if your kid is ready to change to regular soap is just to give it a try and keep an eye out. If it appears to be irritating their skin, give them another bath in baby soap, and wait a little while longer.
about 2/3 my youngest daughter whos 1 is still using

baby shampoo. My eldest daughter who is 5 is using

big girl shampoo now and has been since she was 2.
Sophie is 2.5 and I still only use California Baby or Burts Bees body washes/shampoos on her. They are just better for her without all the chemicals in the main brands.
My son uses Johnson and Johnson shampoo/conditioner for curly hair.

As soon as his hair was long enough, I switched him over to that.
    a year and a ahlf

hes barely two so i havent switched him to real soap%26amp;probably wont till hes 5 since the baby stuff smells GOOD

  • Is it ok to use shampoo instead of soap for showers?

So I just got out of the shower, and while in there I noticed the soap was gone. Since I was already in the water, and didn't want to find a new bar at the moment I improvised and used the foam from my shampoo.

So my question is there an issue with using shampoo to improvise for soap, or should you always use shampoo for your hair, and soap for your body?Is it ok to use shampoo instead of soap for showers?
Soap is more recommended for the body, but in emergency situations, shampoo was a good choice. I don't recommend cleansing yourself with shampoo though, it can dry up your skin and also, if you don't rinse it completely, it can make your skin itchy after your skin dries. Is it ok to use shampoo instead of soap for showers?
It is not a big problem that u use shampoo instead of soap for the body but you may feel slimy after a bit and the strength of the soap is not equal compared to the shampoo. however if u used it the other way around then you might have some trouble.
i dont see why you couldnt... just keep it away from sensitive areas...
I think the only thing would be that shampoo could be to rough on your skin. Like using bubble bath as body wash is to harsh for you skin.

It's not bad that you used shampoo, but it probably doesn't wash as well as soap, seeing as shampoo is meant for hair, and soap for skin.
Nooo! Alright I learned this in Biology. Dont use soap because it damages your hair because its a base. Shampoo is good for your hair because its made out of an acid. If you put a base in your hair it damages it while and acid such as shampoo is good for your hair.

Is it bad to use bar soap as shampoo?

The hotel I am staying at ran out of shampoo. I left mine at the house and I dont wanna go to the store. Is it bad to use ivory bar soap for your hair as shampoo? Is it bad to use bar soap as shampoo?
Well, it won't damage your hair or anything. In fact, people used to use regular soap on the hair all the time. Shampoo wasn't invented until modern times. But it probably won't give you the results you want. It be quite drying and might leave it feeling kind of filmy. Maybe you could just skip a day on washing your hair. Some people say your hair looks best after a few days without a wash.Is it bad to use bar soap as shampoo?
I'm sure if you used it once, then it wouldn't destroy your hair or anything like that. It will probably just leave your hair a little drier than it would be if you used regular shampoo. I'm sure you will be ok, just try not to use it all the time instead of shampoo.
The front desk should have more shampoo, if you don't want to yeah you can but it will cause your hair to have more residue and your hair is more icky. But you can do this.
Yes, it is bad to use bar soap as shampoo. You never know what kind of side effects it could have on your hair. I wouldn't do it.
It'll be okay! It's not gonna kill ya. I did that at hotels also when they were out of shampoos. Just make sure to air dry it to prevent more damages. It'll be dryer but it won't hurt for one night.
i guess its not the worst thing you can do to your hair, just dont do it unless you have conditioner!!!
can be used once in a while, no harm

i'm using washing soap for hair since childhood, since in our village / country side still we haven't heard of shampooooo concept
Just go to the front desk and ask 4 another one

Not sure if this is completely organic but they do use organic herbs...Alba Botanica (Hawaiian Line)

Soap: Coconut Milk Cream Body Wash

    Shampoo: Mango Moisturizing Shampoo

I get it from my local health food store or it's also available online. What's your favorite organic soap or shampoo?
Alba Botanica Hawaiian conditioner, so yummy smelling! Haven't tried the shampoo yet though!

Regardless of the colour of soap, shampoo etc why are suds always white?

The coloring in soap will color the suds very slightly, but there's not nearly enough coloring to color the suds very much. Remember, the volume of suds is much higher than the volume of the soap from which they were made.

If a soap had way too much coloring in it, it would color the suds more. It would also color whatever the soap was washing, which is why the manufacturers don't use that much dye!Regardless of the colour of soap, shampoo etc why are suds always white?
No, if you are really dirty they go brown and leave dirty marks all over the bathRegardless of the colour of soap, shampoo etc why are suds always white?
    lmao
    great question!!!
they aren't. I have blue soap and it gives of a blue tint.

The colouring in soap get dispersed in air and water so as a result the colour is less noticable.

Bubbles give of a rainbow because it's skin is not uniform in thickness and changes. This means light is refracted differently off the bubbles. I think it is called thin film interferance
it has something to do with a chemical reaction.
but the bubbles have rainbows - that count? hmm, why do bubbles have rainbows?
    never thought about it
Because the actual soap content is still white, the colour is superficial and dissipates before it can have any real effect on the suds.

How can I make a homemade soap or shampoo ad conditioners?

I'd like to know what gives a fair smell and easy to make for guys. I heard that it is a natural thing (chemicals free) to do and can save you couple of bucks. I'm trying to become an Environmentalist as much as possible. I don't know if I would like the homemade at all, but I would like to try at least once. If not, I would go back to buying organic products. How can I make a homemade soap or shampoo ad conditioners?
    Soapnut Shampoo

Shampoo made from soapnuts is very gentle and allergen-free, and a little goes along way. To make your own soapnuts shampoo, place 8-10 soapnuts in a cotton bag, and tie the drawstring. Fill a saucepan with 3 cups of water, and boil for 12-15 minutes. Saponin is released into the water, creating an excellent natural soap. Remove the soapnut bag, and place the liquid in an empty bottle. Soapnut shampoo is not as thick as standard shampoos, and does not create as much artificial lather. Rest assured, however, that soapnut shampoo will leave your hair clean, naturally. A tip for first-time users: if your hair feels slightly dry after using soapnut shampoo, you may have used too much. Since soapnut shampoo does not produce a lot of lather, it is easy to use too much. Just remember, a little goes a long way.

How often can you bathe a dog with a soap-free shampoo?

I heard you can use a soap-free shampoo if you need to bathe your dog more often. I know once a month is better, but my yorkie plays outside with our other dogs and gets covered in dirt and dog slobber. What is a good one? Do I still follow up with a conditioner? I brush and comb her daily, but a weekly bath she needs! How often can you bathe a dog with a soap-free shampoo?
You can use pure castile or or Nutrogena for frequent bathing. Light conditioner is fine..How often can you bathe a dog with a soap-free shampoo?
this might sound weird but a dog should only be bathed every 3 months so its natural oils dont come out but you can rinse down your dog as often as you want i was told by this from a vet because same thing happened to me plz trust me cause ive been breeding since i was 7 good luck pick me plz
I have a white toy-poodle and he does the same thing. I usually give him a weekly bath, or lightly rinse with temperate water when he gets really dirty. If things are not too bad try using wet-wipes. They have special ones for dogs at PetSmart, but the sensitive skin ones like (Huggies Naturals) work well in a pinch.

If your dog's hair is dirty with the feces of other animals, you should clean him immediately. But it is not necessary a complete cleansing. You can leave the mud in his hair till it dries, and then brush it out. It's not recommendable to wash the hair frequently, because it eliminates the waterproof natural agents, and tends to dry out the skin.
People bath their dogs too much and then wonder why they have skin conditions. Your dog only needs a bath once or twice a year. you will ruin the natural balance of oils it needs to keep a good coat. Yes I do take my dogs to the groomers during the hotter months but to tell you the truth that's more for my benefit (shedding) not the dogs. Dogs will need a bath if they get muddy but warm water will do just fine. Sometimes every dog gets into stuff it shouldn't and a spot clean is needed.
I have a pure bred maltese. He is pure white. He needs a bath 2 to 3 times a week. You can use any dog shampoo that is is delicate to their skin.I do use a conditioner because malteses are known to have sensitive skin.I use a oatmeal conditioner made for dogs.My dog has no skin problems and has nice pink skin.
just use a puppy or baby shampoo if you really need it, but water alone is fine too, just make sure you brush her to get the clumps out.
I don't think you do conditoner. Give her a weekly bath if she needs it.
It really depends on the dog. I have 2 papillons and my boyfriend has a boston terrier, and all three get weekly baths and have never had a problem with it. You don't necessarily have to use a shampoo labeled soap-free, just avoid heavy-duty deep cleaning shampoos. Try puppy shampoo, oatmeal shampoo, or a shampoo/conditioner in one formula. As long as you don't notice your dog's skin becoming dry or irritated, weekly baths are just fine.

    Hi,

You can buy glycerin soap base (aka: melt and pour soap)

    http://www.thesoapgoat.com/nglycerin.htm鈥?/a>

Follow instructions on how to use MP soap here:

    http://www.thesoapgoat.com/nfaq8.html

Then add in fragrance oils into the melted MP soap base:

    http://www.thesoapgoat.com/nfragranceoil鈥?/a>

    Stir stir stir

Then pour into soap molds (or any plastic container):

    http://www.thesoapgoat.com/nmolds.html

Let it harden, pop out the soap, and there you have a fragrance soap bar.

DO NOT buy already made bars and remelt them and add in scent, it won't work.
Go to Michaels or Joann's or any craft store. Buy Castille Soap. Buy some forms if you want. Then buy scent. Easy, easy, easy. We did this once with a bunch of 12 year old girls for a birthday party. They loved it.

I hate castille shampoo (I have oily hair), so I don't use it, but you can do the same with that as well. They sell plain castille shampoo at my grocery store in the natural food section. Just add scent and you are good to go.

A lot of the malls used to have shops with unscented soaps and lotions and they would make it up in the scent you want. that's another option.

I lost most of my sense of smell, but sandlewood is one of the few I can still smell. Barely though.

What similarity in pH do all cleaning products have in common (soap, shampoo, cleaner)? Why is this important?

    For a science project..

What similarity in pH do all cleaning products have in common (soap, shampoo, cleaner)? Why is this important?
The pH of cleaning products, such as soaps, shampoos, and cleansers, ranges from about 4.5 to 6.0, which is mildly acidic:

    Soap pH = 5.0-6.0

    Shampoo pH = 4.5-5.5

Such a pH is important, because it is very similar to the natural pH of skin and hair:

    Skin pH = 4.0-6.0

    Hair pH = 3.5-5.5

If there was a substantial discrepancy between the pH of cleaning fluids and skin or hair, then these external tissues could be damaged by exposure to cleaners. Because the pHs are similar, cleaners are safe to use on skin and hair.

When can i start washing my baby with regular soap and adult shampoo?

seriously i started pantene 2/1 since about 18 months and 2 years for both my girls. My girls have gorgeous long thick perfect hair and i seriously contribute some of that to it. We only used baby soap for the first like year maybe..then on to the toddler stuff..then we just went to adult. Like bar soaps, body wash and pantene 2 in 1.When can i start washing my baby with regular soap and adult shampoo?
My son is 8 years old now and I finally decided he was old enough to use the big boy soap (his dads soap lol) but he still uses the tear free Suave shampoo. Kids still get soap in their eyes and it burns them, when this happens it causes them to not want to wash their hair anymore you don't want this to happen! I went weeks without washing my hair when I was a kid because I burned my eyes with the soap over and over and said ';screw it!'; lol Till thankfully grandma found out why I wasn't washing my hair and gave me tear free shampoo, bless her heart lol.

Even adults burn their eyes with soap and we all know it's no fun. Imagine how it feels for a small child or baby. You don't want them to be terrified of baths.

They have different stages of soaps and shampoos as your child grows. Depending on the age of your child check out the stage he or she should be using. A baby should continue using baby soap until kindergarten, and then switch to the ';big kid'; soaps that are still tear free and safe for sensitive skin. When can i start washing my baby with regular soap and adult shampoo?
Well instead of baby soap there is kids soap and shampoo like Loreal kids.

If you child is under 2 I'd probably stick to using baby soap and then after 2 switch to the kids soap.

Then around 8 I would allow them to use adult soap as long as it did not irritate their skin.

I was showering on my own at about 5 years old and recall using pert plus kids shampoo and then a kids body wash.

Adult shampoo happened at about 8.
Gosh I don't even do that to my 6 yr old (unless I happen to run out of the childrens stuff). if shampoo or soap gets in their eyes it will burn. So atleast wait until they are old enough to know to close their eyes. Also wait for atleast a yr because our stuff isn't hypoallergenic like babies.
Can I suggest you check into www.ewg.org and look up consumer products . By reviewing the consumer products link under health you will see some scary facts re ingredients in all personal care products but they also give info on the best products.....good luck- hope you find it helpful
yeah i still use baby wash and kids tear free shampoo on my toddlers, the shampoo wont sting their eyes and the soap doesnt dry out their skin
When he is old enough to take his own shower.

What are shower gels and bath gels used for? can you use them as soap AND shampoo?

i'm considering switching from soap, but do i need to get rid of my shampoo from Trader Joes? Thanks. What are shower gels and bath gels used for? can you use them as soap AND shampoo?
shower gel acts as a soap, and you should DEFENITELY not use it on your hair. It will strip you hair of all it's natural oils and make it dry and tangled. What are shower gels and bath gels used for? can you use them as soap AND shampoo?
shower gel can replace soap. i like it a lot better then soap actually. i'd reccomend not using the gel as shampoo tho cause it's just not made strictly for hair. stick to shampoo.

    hahaha.

    good question.

:]What is in soap and shampoo that says this soap is only for body and shampoo only for hair?
Shampoo tends to be tempered so that its less abrasive than soap. Your hair very well may be more delicate than the skin. Thats my idea anyways. lolWhat is in soap and shampoo that says this soap is only for body and shampoo only for hair?
You can use soap for hair and shampoo for body, the only thing I've noticed is that soap can be too drying for hair and shampoo usually has more moisturizers.

I work in a dog grooming shop, so I know a little bit about bathing dogs! I really recommend Tropiclean products. They also have Spa shampoos, conditioners, and colognes that smell really nice. You can do a google search for Tropiclean and probably find some good deals online. I know you can find Spa products at some pet stores, also. My favorite by Tropiclean is their Oatmeal and Tea Tree shampoo. Not only is it good for your dog's skin and fur, but it makes your hands feel really soft after giving your pup a bath, too. With the Spa products, I like their Comfort shampoo. It smells really good. I don't know if you'll find these at places like Petsmart or Petco, but if you have a good local pet supply store, check them out. A lot of the smaller pet supply places have better quality products and foods than the Petsmart/Petco chains.

Check your phonebook and ask around for a good groomer in your area. The best thing about getting a big dog like a Labrador groomed at a shop is that we use a force dryer while drying them, which helps get out a lot of loose or shedding hair. Not only that, but that means you don't have to do all the hard work. They may even have shampoos you can buy there.

Can I use baby soap/shampoo when washing my hands prior to putting contact lenses in?

No store in my town sells unscented soap. Can I use baby soap/shampoo when washing my hands prior to putting contact lenses in?
Hello there! Ya I know these days all the soaps have different scents and lotion beads in them..lol

The best thing for you to is completely avoid soaps with lotions in them!

Unscented soaps are the best, but if you cannot find any unscented soaps then a mildly scented soap will do.

Baby soap is very mild and there should be no problem in using it. Just make sure that you rub your hands together with the soap for about a minute and rinse off thoroughly. Its also a good idea to turn the tap off with a paper towel so your hands don't get dirty again :)

So yes using baby soap is fine :) Hope that helpsCan I use baby soap/shampoo when washing my hands prior to putting contact lenses in?
Yes, it is actually what most dr.'s will tell you to use to wash your eye when you get irritation for allergies and other small infections.
You can use any type of soap on your hands. You wash the soap off and dry your hands. Just don't put on lotion or brush your teeth first, that bites.
    Just rinse your hands well
Baby shampoo and soap also has additives. I used glycerine soaps (heck even my hardware store has this). Just use the soap you got until you find something unscented. Rinse your hands well. Most folks just use ordinary bath soap.

No longer have contacts due to dry eye. :(
Wash will soap, and then rinse well. Don't ever use plain water. It will not kill germs that can cause infections. Good Luck.
I would personally recommend an antibacterial soap to kill germs, you never know what lingers and eye infections are no fun!! Someone has to sell antibacterial dish soap or body soap, make certain you scrub up well and rinse well also, then I would dry my hands on paper towels so you don't get more germs that could lurk in a towel. Paper towels are usually less lint prevalent also, lint can irritate the eye as well!!

    Good luck!! : )

  • What is the difference between a shampoo and soap? Is it just a marketing gimmick?

There are significant differences between soap and shampoo.

While both soaps and shampoos contain the cleaning agent surfactants, soap is specifically designed to clean the body and might be too harsh on hair.

The difference between shampoo and soap include:

    * Proper detergency without degreasing

    * Ability to form delicate and rich bubbling

    * Easy rinsing

    * Good finish after washing hair

    * Minimal skin/eye irritation

    * No damage to hair

    * Low toxicity

    * Good biodegradabilityWhat is the difference between a shampoo and soap? Is it just a marketing gimmick?
I had a teacher once who swore there was no difference. He said that these buisnesses are just trying to make more money by tricking you. Of course, he had no hair. I am sure that there are different chemicals in each product. Maybe you should compare the chemicals and look up their purpose.

How do I get the Vasiline out of my kids hair if I have already tried using every soap and shampoo I have?

My daughters hair looks really wet and it has since yesterday after her and my son got into a whole thing of Vasisline! I tried Head and Shoulders and all the other shampoos and conditioners I could find around the house and nothing worked for me! PLEASE HELP me SOON we are going on vacation tomorrow!! LoL! I got 2 wet lookin kiddies! How do I get the Vasiline out of my kids hair if I have already tried using every soap and shampoo I have?
Vaseline won't hurt your kids hair. It might look wet for a while, but it might actually help to moisturize their hair (good if they're going to be out in the sun while on vacation.)

If you want to get the Vaseline out, try just a drop or two of dish soap (not detergent) like Dawn. It's perfectly safe for hair and skin and will help to remove the Vaseline.

If that doesn't work, there should be a customer service number on the jar of Vaseline. Call them and ask for suggestions.

    Vaseline In The Hair

    Karen Marie Shelton

    Date: 4/21/2001, 10/29/2004

    Introduction

Today I had yet another AskKaren ';hair disaster'; email. A mom wrote to tell me that her 15 year old daughter had used Vaseline to create faux dreads on her gorgeous waist length hair.

The good news was that the faux dreads turned out great. Unfortunately, the bad news was that the Vaseline could not be removed from the hair. Nothing worked. After many unsuccessful shampoo attempts the mom decided that the only option was the scissors. Luckily she decided to email me before she took this last irreversible step.

Is there a way to remove Vaseline from the hair without scissors? Yes, absolutely. The treatment that I describe below works about 90% of the time after the first treatment. It will work 99% of the time after two treatments.

Steps For Removing Vaseline From The Hair

STEP 1: Take a paper towel and blot as much of the Vaseline from the hair as possible onto the paper towel. Do not rub as this can damage the hair. Blot and pat carefully.

STEP 2: Apply a little cornstarch or cornmeal powder (do not use baby powder as it can be harmful to the lungs) to the sections of the hair that contains the Vaseline. Blot or pat the cornstarch onto the hair. Again, do not rub. Make sure that the entire area of Vaseline is covered with a light amount of the cornstarch or cornmeal powder.

STEP 3: Once the hair has been completely covered step into a warm, not hot, shower. Apply a good clarifying shampoo to the palms of your hand and then apply to the hair.

STEP 4: Shampoo twice to make sure that all the cornstarch and the Vaseline are removed from your hair.

STEP 5: Rinse with warm water until clear.

STEP 6: Apply a good rinse out conditioner to your hair. This is important since the two applications of clarifying shampoo will tend to dry out most hair.

STEP 7: Rinse well and do a cool or cold water final rinse.

STEP 8: Towel blot hair. apply detangler, pick out tangles and then let the hair air dry.

If all the Vaseline is not removed during the first treatment, do another treatment in 24 hours. That should successfully eliminate all of the Vaseline residue.

Why do you have to use cornstarch or cornmeal powder? The cornstarch binds with the Vaseline and allows it to be carried out of the hair by the shampoo. Without a binding agent (like cornstarch or cornflower) the Vaseline just remains attached to the hair cuticle.

Although some visitors have reported success with white flour and other similar binding agents, the best results seem to be guaranteed with the cornstarch or cornmeal powder.

Question: how can you remove vaseline petroleum jelly from hair?

Answer: SPOT found many different suggested remedies for removing Vaseline from hair (SPOT has no first-hand experience here, so try what you think might work for you):

Suggestion #1: Saturate hair in baby oil. Squeeze out as much of the oil as you can, then wash hair three times with Dawn dish soap.

Suggestion #2: Put cornstarch on hair. Pat it in and let it set for a few minutes. Shampoo twice with a clarifying shampoo. Repeat again in 24 hours, if needed.

Suggestion #3: Work peanut butter through hair. Wash thoroughly.

Suggestion #4: Rinse hair with vinegar, then water.

    Good luck!

    one word-DAWN
use very hot water and shampoo
Just one question - HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET VASELINE

    IN YOUR KIDS HAIR?
The same thing happened to me regarding this nasty pomade stuff. Try some Suave Clarifying Shampoo. It got all of the greasiness out after a couple washings.
The best way to get vaseline out of hair is to sprinkle baby powder on the hair. The powder will soak up the oils and grease. Then wash with a regular shampoo. You may have to do a couple of washings but it will come out.
You'd have to be careful for their eyes, and I don't know what it will do for their hair color, but I would try something with citric acid in it. Like Goo-Gone, or even just straight lemon juice. It should break down vaseline pretty quick.

    Otherwise, maybe mineral oil?

    Good Luck!
well you are going to need something to soak up oils, you might laugh but try flour or baking soda... anything that will soak up oils and wont damage the hair will work, it will soak up oils quickly. After you do that then wash their hair once or twice. If that dosent work then idk what to tell you. lol

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR WET LOOKING KIDS :) haha
cut it off...its just hair itll grow back, and after it happens, they will never put it in their hair again
Like they say oil and water don't mix so I would suggest do nothing and it will go away on its own. Just keep combing and brushing.
talcon powder. people put that in thr hair when its greasy so it mite work
OMG. that same thing happened to my aunt but I bet the stories are totally different. She was playing with the Vaseline and put the whole entire tube in her hair. Just try dish liquid. Not dish washer liquid though. It'll take a while for it to come out though. Be very careful , my aunt's hair is very damaged now.

PS. the Vaseline may cause her natural hair to change. It might be tangled lots and poofy but the dish liquid is the only thing I could suggest.
I've heard that vinegar works on hair to cut oiliness.

And it won't damage the hair.
it's not a major problem . Time will take care of it
Well, one of my friends daughters had vaseline in her hair too. You could possibly try Selsun Blue, but she said that after about 10 washes she was able to get most of it out. You may just need to wash and rinse over and over again! I would take sections of her hair and concentrate on each section.
Try using a soap bar or body wash. These are high in alkalinity, hopefully they will break down the Vaseline. After use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

What is the best smelling soap & shampoo for girls?

Scent and attraction is easily intertwined in memories, it's just likely that you liked the way her shampoo smelled because you liked her. Chances are it was just plain old shampoo.

Ha ha ha ha that cracked me up. Well I guess it would be stupid to pay money for shampoo if you have no hair. I guess they would use soap. Nobody needs a soft and glossy scalp do they?
My dad washes his head with either Johnson's baby shampoo or sometimes he uses Nizoral as he gets a dandriff scalp ( he is bald).
oh my gosh , i wonder that too! I think they wash there body and no shampoo. =D

I am pretty sure soap do that it is used for skin. Shampoo is used for hair so im pretty sure shampoo unless they have some hair growing.
Shampoo if they're still in denial, soap if they've accepted their baldness.
I think it depends on personal preference! My dad uses shampoo, but my friend uses soap.
    Shampoo is for hair.

    Soap is for skin.

    Think about it.
just soap on a facecloth and rinse
=/ you asked a very interesting question that got me wondering too... I think it just depends... maybe they all have their own ways... or what if they're aliens? %26gt;.%26gt; %26lt;,%26lt; you never know...
Ask them. ALL of them. Thanks.
no need for shampoo as its made for keeping hair nice. so, soap is good enough, its just another area of skin!!
prob. body soap. I mean why waste the extra money on shampoo that is for hair.
i do no know but i think they use soap or i don't know i am not bald
    Soap.

    My dad uses soap.
I think maybe shampoo. They could get soap scum on their scalps, lol.
    that is a good question.

    probably shampoo though

I thought I was the only one who wondered about silly stuff like this
    hmmmm.....that's a really good question

    idk

    i'm not bald
that is one hell of a good question.

    maybe shower gel?
idk....but im being forced to shave my head on thursday

Can I use Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap to shampoo my carpets?

no, castille soap will leave a residue. Carpet shampoo is not actually a soap but a detergent. If you do shampoo a carpet it is best to then go over the carpet using an extraction machine and clear water. Can I use Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap to shampoo my carpets?

How many times in a week one should use bathing soap and shampoo?

I should hope that you would use bathing soap, and shampoo, everyday...or what the heck...have I been overdoing it!!

xoxo agoodgirl_msjHow many times in a week one should use bathing soap and shampoo?
The best way to choose a mate is with your nose. Studies have shown that masking our odor completely attempts to short circuit our natural ability to communicate with each other. Your hair secretes natural oils that were useful to humans for hundreds of thousands of years. Your skin is doing the same thing. In fact the hair under your arms and around your pubic region is there for the sole purpose of trapping your aroma so you will attract a mate that is chemically right for you. There is nothing wrong with showering as few times as once a week if you are not particularly active or dirty. Your body is not filthy just because of some healthy perspiration. Daily hand washing with soap is a good idea because it helps prevent the spread of germs, and fortunately, we don't choose our mates by sniffing their fingers. Although I must say my woman's hands smell fabulous. She uses no perfumes or deodorant and I just cannot get enough of her natural aroma. How many times in a week one should use bathing soap and shampoo?
I guess for shampoo it would be good for about four(4) times a week.

    Soap would be use everyday.

Being hygienic all the time would be best even though soap and shampoo are not used everyday.
well ideally, you should use them every time you bathe. essentially you should take a bath at least everyday.
bathing soap should be used everyday

although i try not to wash my hair everyday as it strips your head of its natural oils.
You can bathe and shampoo as many times that you feel you should. I shower and wash my hair everyday.
Bathing soap use 2 time /day... Shampoo use 2 time /week in summer.. shampoo use 1 time/week in other season...
i take a shower everyday and shampoo and condition and clean myself
    soap 2 times a day

    shampoo 2 times a week
I bath and and shampoo a least twice a day,
    everyday i hope...

  • What type of soap removes more grease: dish soap, hand soap, or shampoo?

this question is very important so i really need your help thanks :)What type of soap removes more grease: dish soap, hand soap, or shampoo?
This is no joke but try putting cola soda in your laundry nad you will be surprised at how much grease it gets out. Oxy clean works too.

What is the scientific technical difference between a soap, a shampoo, and a detergent?

Detergent is a compound, or a mixture of compounds, intended to assist cleaning. Any thing then that is used for cleaning, can be called detergent. For example, if plain water is used for cleaning, it is a detergent - technically.

Hence, soap and shampoo are under the term detergents since they are used for washing and cleaning. Specifically, they both contain surfactants that clean by stripping oil and dirt from our skin, clothing, and/or hair. The difference between the two, however, is that surfactants in shampoo are milder than the one in soap. Soap bonds to oils with such affinity that it removes too much if used on hair. Shampoo uses a different class of surfactants balanced to avoid removing too much oil from the hair. What is the scientific technical difference between a soap, a shampoo, and a detergent?
soaps are sodium salts of higher fatty acids while detergents are sulphonates. when we use soap in hard water it forms calcium and magnesium salts of the same fatty acids and therefore produce scum.thus soap does not give foam with hard water. What is the scientific technical difference between a soap, a shampoo, and a detergent?
Its all in the technical spelling of each individual word!
Soaps and detergents are both wetting agents. You can't easily wash oily or greasy hands with pure water which is repelled by oil and grease which prevents the hands from becoming wet. Dirt particles must become wet to be rinsed away. That said, soap is formed specifically by the saponification of fats using metal alkalies. Detergents are other chemicals that break down fat globules and wet the object being cleaned so that it can be thoroughly rinsed. Even gasoline often contains a detergent package to keep an engine clean. Incidentally, soap mixed with oil forms grease. You must check the ingredients of shampoos to determine whether they contain soaps or detergents, etc. because it is a general name for a hair or carpet, etc. cleaning agent.

Is it better to wash my hair with shampoo or soap?

Just to let you know, I am a male.

► Is there a long-term or any sort of advantage in washing hair with shampoo or soap rather than the other?

    Peace ☣

^_^Is it better to wash my hair with shampoo or soap?
    Salaam alaikum brother

Soap generally is way too alkaline for the hair. I would stay with shampoo. But some may argue that the main lathering ingredient (surfactant) in shampoo, usually sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulphate, is too harsh for the scalp. This might be the case certainly if one had a skin/scalp disorder. Cocamidopropyl Betaine, derived from coconuts is one of the milder surfactants. It may not produce the desired foaminess so it may be combined with other ';mild'; surfactants that give the desired effect. One would probably only need to worry about though that if one had a scalp disorder.

Anyway, from personal experience I think it is always good to rotate shampoos to keep dandruff at bay. Scalp bacteria get used to a formula and then thrive after adaptation. Conditioner helps flatten down the cuticle after washing.

    Hope this helps.

Salam. Is it better to wash my hair with shampoo or soap?
soap will dry your hair out and probably lead to a nasty case of dandruff. if money is a problem, try alternating between soap and shampoo... start off using soap two days then shampoo one... try that for a couple weeks and see what happens.

other than that, it won't cause any damage or anything like that.
It is better to use shampoo. Soap does not have the moisturizers that shampoo has and will make your hair drier and more damaged in time. Shampoo also contains essential vitamins to make hair more healthier. That is why they make a certain ';soap'; for hair. :)
Soap usually dulls the hair, doesn't deal with greasiness but makes the length of the hair dry.

Shampoo is best, try the 2 in 1 type, shampoo and conditioner. Most brands have them.
wash it with soap then with shampoo.

this is because the soap will clean it best but leaves it feeling off balance. you go back and wash it with shampoo to get the strange feeling out.
haha...my little brother uses body wash for his hair

it smells good, but he shouldn't do it!

Don't let her around sick animals. You have to keep her as healthy as possible. Any small illness could cause the demodecosis to flare up. How can tell if shampoo and/or soap is washed off completely from your hair/hands?

I have OCD and I always think that there's some soap/shampoo left on my body after I take a shower.

I remember today I washed shampoo off my hair but after a few hours when I touched my hair, it felt really awkward. It also smelled like shampoo.

How can you tell if it's washed off or not.How can tell if shampoo and/or soap is washed off completely from your hair/hands?
well of course they smelled like shampoo! when i am in the shower, after i have rinsed out my hair i ring it out (only works if you have long hair) if more bubbles form then i rinse again. or after you have rinsed it out, comb your hands through your hair and kinda scratch your head (like a hair stylist does when they wash your hair). that way you make sure that nothing is hiding and you got all of you hair rinsed out

Would you wash your body with shampoo instead of soap?

I have, Yes. They make products that can be used on the hair as well as the body. As far as the smell no one will know you used shampoo instead of bar soap unless you tell them, Some shampoo actually smells better than soap.Would you wash your body with shampoo instead of soap?

Other protectants such as polymer-based ';waxes'; like Zaino, Nufinish, and Meguiars NXT tend to perform better if they have a few hours to cure, but in all cases you can wash your car the following day.

Just be sure to avoid using dish soaps of any kind because they can actually dissolve away all the wax you just applied. It's best to use a dedicated car wash soap, which is as little as $4 at any auto parts store. Can I wash my car with car soap/shampoo 4 days after polishing/waxing?

How to remove dried soap and shampoo from a my bathroom wall made of ceramic tiles?

our bathroom walls has glossy dark green tiles on it. dried shampoo and liquid soap formed a white stain on the said tiles. it really looks ugly and dirty. how do i remove it? tried to put cleanser and soap and brush it really hard but the stain refused to go away. How to remove dried soap and shampoo from a my bathroom wall made of ceramic tiles?
Apply soap or bathroom cleanser to the area and gently use a blade to scrape it off. Then after that use old newspaper to wipe the soap awayHow to remove dried soap and shampoo from a my bathroom wall made of ceramic tiles?
it's probably not soap, but calcium. lots of that in water in the form of lime. vinegar works. there's this product called clr(calcium, lime, and rust) but it's got a nasty sounding warning on the label.
Try lemon juice. It is acidic and works well on soap scum.
Try vinegar. It contains acetic acid; most acetates are soluble. There are also commercial preparations that could work; inquire at a home supply store.
I think Tilex makes a soap scum remover. In college we called it 'God in a bottle' because it was the only thing that could clean up the guys' bathrooms at the end of semester.

  • When do you stop useing baby soap and shampoo for your toddler?

My Son is 20 months. I was wondering when do you stop useing baby soap and shampoo?

Also, what kind do you use when you stop useing baby soap and shampoo ?When do you stop useing baby soap and shampoo for your toddler?
You know I never thought about that. My daughter is 24 months old and I still use baby shampoo and bosy wash and plan on using it probably until she is able to wash her own hair. Then I would probably switch to the Kandoo stuff which is for older kids but still doesn't burn her eyes. When do you stop useing baby soap and shampoo for your toddler?
I have 3 boys ages 4 yrs, 2 yrs, and 6 mths. I still use baby shampoo and wash.
As long as the shampoo you are currently using is doing the job, I wouldn't worry about switching. As he gets older and his hair changes, you may need something that will make it more manageable. Until then, if it's not broke--don't fix it!
i think you should/could keep using it indefinitely.

many products that adults use are to strong for youngsters. professional advice would be prudent.
My son is 2 years %26amp; 7months and I still use it on him. There's no time limit, it's what you prefer...my son was allergic to the huggies toddler body wash so I just stuck to what I know.
my daughter is 3 and has very long hair, and until recently we used the suave shampoo and conditioner. but her sensitive skin decided it was too drying, so we've now switch to pantene. its easy on her hair and actually helps with the curly tangles. on her body we use the aveeno body wash for sensitive skin, and we're going to switch to an adult body wash soon, because most of my husband family has skin allergies to regular soap.
My son is 2-1/2 and I still use the baby shampoo and soap. The shampoo won't hurt his eyes like regular shampoo. I figure when they are old enough to understand that they need to close their eyes so that soap doesn't get into them. I use the soap as its mild and won't dry out their skin
OMG! Dont do it. Have you tried baby shampoo on your own hair? It's amazing. And the soap always smells soooooo good. My kids dont use baby shampoo anymore, but I still do. LOL
My daughter is 7 years old and still uses it, it's just so much gentler, plus it smells good!
I use Grins %26amp; Giggles shampoo for my 24 month old son and use it to wash his body also, as it does the job and is still gentle enough for his sensitive little skin that he got from his daddy. I quit using baby shampoo + body wash when his hair starting feeling sort of prickly instead of soft after bathing.
I gave up with the baby soap around 1 year of age. For me, the simplier the better! I just use mild adult shampoo for the kids hair and bodies...and it is the same shampoo I use.

Kids shouldn't be that sensitive after a year. You will know right away if you use regular shampoo and your baby breaks out or not.
I use Johnson's Buddies Shampoo and Conditioner for toddlers on my daughter's hair and Baby Soap on the rest of her body (however that do have a body wash that I love... just trying to get rid of all the baby soap first)...

I found that her hair just didn't feel or look clean with baby soap once it was about 2.5 - 3 inches long... I guess if you are going to keep your childs hair short it doesn't really matter what kind of shampoo you use since I know even some adult men that have very short hair and choose not to use shampoo on it, and you can't even tell.

After this ';toddler'; shampoo and conditioner I plan on switching to the Loreal kids shampoo and conditioner line until she is about 8-10 or until her hair is so long that I NEED adult shampoo, since I plan on growing it out... Stick with no tear shampoo until your child is old enough to effectively keep the shampoo out of his eyes though since the chemicals in shampoo can damage a child's eyes (actually anyone's eyes for that matter)
I quit using it close to your sons age because my girls have curly hair and it just does not help detangle enough. I use L'Oreal Vive for curly hair for them. I know hes a boy but you could probably use what shampoo you use. And my kids and I have such sensitive skin that we use Johnsons Moisturizing Baby Wash instead of soap.
I still use baby soap on both my kids(18 months and 4), because they have sensitive skin. I use the Loreal Kids shampoo for my daughter's hair because I want something that won't sting her eyes. If your son's skin isn't sensitive to perfumes or anything, use whatever soap you like, but I'd still get the kids shampoo.
Loreal and Sauve both make kids shampoos that have conditioners built in and are tear free. They are great and come in a variety of smells. Loreal has one that is fast drying and it is wonderful.

YOU CAN USE BABY STUFF TO THE AGE OF 100 ANY ONE CAN USE IT OK UNLESS WHEN THEY GO TO JR.

HIGH ARE HIGH SCHOOL THEY GET PICK ON OTHER THEN THAT IT IS OK I STILL USE IT OK

    TAKE CARE
until about 2-3 years of age.
I never did use baby soap or baby shampoo for my daughter. I used aloe to bathe her and I used a conditioning shampoo and conditioner for her hair. Baby shampoo dries the hair out terribly and is not good for the hair. The reason it is so ';gentle'; and doesn't sting the eyes is because it is made with saline, saline is salt water...salt dries. Use a good moisturizing shampoo and keep it out of the babies eyes. It's not that difficult to do.
It doesnt matter but with the kids i babysit the mom stopped using it at 2 years when the child learned not to put soap in his eyes because the adult stuff can be very dangerous and you always wana stay cautious.
My grand daughters (one at 8 and twins at 10) still use a kids shampoo. It is easier on their hair.

I do believe they were about 6 when their mom stopped using the baby shampoo.
We use the new Johnson and Johnson moisturising soap for adults. It works for her and us. I love it, it smells soooooo good. Good luck
My son is 3 now. And I still use baby soap on him sometimes. The next step would be a childrens bodywash/shampoo.
I took my daughter to a kiddie hair salon at 20 months (she has always had a lot of hair) and the woman told me that she told all her clients to stop using baby shampoo after 6 months because it was drying. I changed to the shampoo and conditioner line from Loreal and my girl's hair is much, much softer.
